Heat without the damage
Three small habits that keep blow-dried and curled hair soft, from the people who blow-dry for a living.

We use heat every day in the studio, and we still love our clients’ ends. Here is how.
Rough-dry first
Let your hair dry by about seventy percent without a brush, with your fingers, before you pick up the round brush. Less time with the brush means less heat.
Always a protector
A light heat protector on damp hair, combed through to the ends. It is the single best thing you can do.
Turn it down
Most flat iron and curling irons work beautifully at 320 to 350 °F. Higher than that and you are cooking, not styling.
